Peter Tunney

Peter Tunney was a former stockbroker on Wall Street, who struggled with alcohol and drug abuse. When the stock market crashed in 2008, he decided to leave that life, get sober, and become an artist.
Now, Tunney makes collage artwork that sends a positive message, and makes millions.

As you do, notice the word or phrase choice. Think about what affect that word or phrase has on you.
Peter Tunney Takes news clippings and headlines, collages them together, and prints a positive word or phrase on top. This allows the positivity to take over the negative and stressful headlines.
Collage= A French word meaning to cut up and reassemble to make something new. Typically, a collage consists of many different materials.

Notice the layering underneath the word “GRATTITUDE”. Tunney allows the collage shine through.
Tunney spells gratitude with two ‘t’s because he feels that gratitude is an attitude. (Notice the two t’s in attitude).

Tunney plays with transparency in his work. Transparency refers to the amount of light which is allowed to pass through an object.
So, in paint/ink, transparency refers to how much we can see through it.
